Join us for Sensory-Friendly Saturdays, an opportunity for adults and families to experience the museum with lowered volume and light levels. Our Sensory-Friendly program welcomes anyone who can benefit from a low-sensory museum environment with activities focused on youth with ASD and sensory challenges.

During sensory friendly times, changes are made to the museum’s exhibit spaces with the intention of helping make the museum more accessible and enjoyable for youth with ASD and sensory challenges.

These changes include:

  • Having fewer guests than normal
  • Disabling interactives that make noise
  • Lower lights in some museum spaces
  • Offering additional signage to assist in navigation and aid in understanding Museum rules and expectations
  • Offering sensory bags to be used during your visit

Guest are welcome to:

  • Come and go as they need
  • Bring comfort items, including fidget devices, headphones, weighted vests
  • Use the designated quiet space
